Smarter Than You Think

Every time Scott gets ready to leave the house Dixon turns from the world's most unaffectionate child into this. All cuddly and forlorn. He may not be able to talk, but I think he's a pretty smart kid.

The Silver Shoe

Dixon's latest display of independence: picking out his own shoes. He always wants one silver one. Just one. Who am I to argue?

Peter Pan

The other night Dixon was getting over a cold and not sleeping well. He woke up in the middle of the night screaming. Scott and I were both holding our breath and praying he'd go back to sleep when we heard a large slam. We immediately came to the conclusion that Ryan and Kara had had enough and left, slamming the door on their way out. That is until we heard someone trying the door handle in Dixon's room. Turns out Dixon climbed to the top of his crib and jumped over the side, only to discover he was all out of pixie dust. Needless to say, between that and Dixon's typical destructive behavior, he looked like he'd been in a boxing match. I got some really horrible looks when I took him to the store a few days later.
Here are some recent fun pics:
Relax, I climb in here all the time when you're not looking...
Please, it's a matter of life and death! Just eat the Cheeto!!!
Cheerios? What Cheerios? What makes you think I know how they got all over the floor?!?
But your bed is so much warmer and softer...
Yeah, that's right. They're mine. All of them.

Highlights

I know it has been forever since my last post. I've been feeling under the weather because, well, I'm pregnant. 14 weeks and I'm finally starting to feel like a human again. Anyway, we had a great Christmas. Here are some pics:

Santa!!!

This is Dixon's friend Buzz. He was a little creeped out by Woody at first...
My Christmas surprise. Scott built this frame and...

all this kitchen storage! Doors and shelves coming soon. Scott would have finished but he had to take care of Dixon while I was sick in bed. All month...
Who cares about the blocks? Look at this sweet container!
The little artist
I was supposed to eat it? Duh!

He-Man Woman Hater

Since the day Dixon was born, Scott and I have heard over and over that he is "all boy." As he's gotten older, he has made a real effort to maintain that image. He loves cars, being outside, rough play, etc. I think, however, he may be taking things a little far. He has decided he will not let any woman over the age of 8, including his grandmas or mom, hold him, talk to him, or otherwise socialize with him. On Thanksgiving he made it a point to avoid contact with any of us while he weaved his way to his Grandpa Alldredge. There he begged to be picked up and proceeded to have a grand ol' time laughing and teasing with Grandpa. It must be a guy thing...
