He-Man Woman Hater

Since the day Dixon was born, Scott and I have heard over and over that he is "all boy." As he's gotten older, he has made a real effort to maintain that image. He loves cars, being outside, rough play, etc. I think, however, he may be taking things a little far. He has decided he will not let any woman over the age of 8, including his grandmas or mom, hold him, talk to him, or otherwise socialize with him. On Thanksgiving he made it a point to avoid contact with any of us while he weaved his way to his Grandpa Alldredge. There he begged to be picked up and proceeded to have a grand ol' time laughing and teasing with Grandpa. It must be a guy thing...

18 Month Stats

Dixon just got a good bill of health at his 18 month appointment. He's still tall and skinny. 80th percentile height. 30th percentile weight. Best of all, he is not autistic. He just likes to stack and organize everything. And is very, very, very hyperactive...

Why Uncles Are The Best

We've all been there. You let a kid do something funny. Then he or she wants to do it over and over and over. Luckily for Dixon, Uncle Ryan has much more patience than mom and dad. Here is Dixon being a human basketball.

And here is Uncle Ryan pulling Dixon around the yard. I got tired just watching them.

Some Things Are Just Written In The Male Genetic Code

Football on television, his very own chair, naked without a care. It was a good moment for this little guy.

Pics

Well, we finally took Dixon to get his picture taken. He was, as usual, hilarious. For every cute picture we got 10 funny ones. How are we supposed to choose? Anyway, here are a few of the literally hundreds. Enjoy.

Bite Me

Imagine living in a world where your parents allow you to eat tampons and foam footballs. This is a reality that some face every day. For just $1 a day you can save the life of a child like Dixon. Your contribution can get Dixon the training he needs for basic living skills. Talking, sitting still, knowing what is and is not edible. These are just a few of the things this poor child can't begin to accomplish. Seriously, though, who does that? This kid will bite anything. Notice I grabbed the camera instead of the football...

Summer

I haven't posted anything in ages so I'm going to do one big catch up post. We have done a lot this summer. It has been so fun. Anyway, as they say, a picture is worth a thousand words so here's what we've been up to:

Dunaway Family Reunion:
Bear Lake 2009

Where there is Dixon, there is an uncle. Todd, Dixon, and Tyler.
Dixon and Aunt Melissa

Conn and Dixon

Dixon woke Uncle Ryan up at 6:30.
Dixon following his cousin Ryker around

Dixon likes to stand up while the boat is going so he can see the water.
Sarah, Michael, Ryker, Corbin, Olivia, Dixon.
Dixon ate sand and later pooped it out. I love kids.
The little fish
So many little ones. Olivia, Michael, Dixon, McKensey, Conn.
Scott and Dixon's partner in crime, Cousin Conn
Dixon thinks he's so big. Todd, Dixon, Tyler, Kara, and Brianna.
Typical Dixon. Always a clown.
Camping with the Alldredges.
Amy reserved a campground at Heber Valley Camp for the Alldredges.

Fun with pretzels by the campfire
Mom and Dad. I love this picture because, despite the fact it wasn't planned, my mom has an evil smirk like she's plotting something, and my dad looks very nervous about that.
Sunset with Amy, Bryton, and Kiara
Double Trouble. Dixon LOVES his cousin Bryton. Bryton is so patient with Dixon and chases him around while I rest.
Grandma and Dixon
I think I'm allergic to camping.

Las Vegas
Scott and I took Dixon with us to Las Vegas. He never fussed and was a wonderful little traveler. We all had a great time!
Dixon went a little nuts when we got to our room. He ran laps for a couple of hours.

The Secret Garden

Autistic or Artistic? Here are a few of Dixon's projects while we were in Vegas

The view from our room in Vegas

Dixon thought the fish tank in the floor was a great stage so he did an elaborate tap dance and sang a song for everyone.

Other summer fun:
Dunaway Pioneer Day Barbeque. This is Corbin, Scott, and McKensey on the 24th of July.
