Highlights

I know it has been forever since my last post. I've been feeling under the weather because, well, I'm pregnant. 14 weeks and I'm finally starting to feel like a human again. Anyway, we had a great Christmas. Here are some pics:

all this kitchen storage! Doors and shelves coming soon. Scott would have finished but he had to take care of Dixon while I was sick in bed. All month...

Pregnant!? Congrats to you! Dixon looks like a handful of fun, I cant wait till Amanda is that big. Shifty eyes.

Oh my gosh! That last picture is crazy! I will never get why kids have the urge to put food all over their body. I guess it must be fun. Thanks for the post though. It's fun to see pictures. And I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Not fun!

I'm glad you are feeling better. Let me know if you need me to watch Dixon ever so you can take a nap or go to a doctors appointment.

My doctor asked Dixon if he was being a good boy so Santa would bring him presents.
Dixon's response: "My Grandma Joy buys me books even when I'm naughty."

I got really mad at Dixon today due to a Play-Doh incident. So he came up to me and gave me a kiss and said; "You love me even when you're mad."

The other day Dixon was calling Dash a little sappetite. I couldn't figure out what he meant until later he called him a monster sappetite. Then it hit me. It's from one of his favorite books, "The Greedy Python." In it the snake is described as having a monstrous appetite!

Scott was watching football when Dixon asked if he could watch Lilo and Stitch. When Scott gave in and started putting on the movie, Dixon ran to me and said:
"Daddy loves me! He's turning off his football!"

I was getting out winter hats. One had a pom pom on top. Dixon saw it and said:
"This hat has a hat on it. That's crazy!"

Me: "Dixon, you got what you wanted. Why are you crying now?"
Dixon: "There's water in my eyes!"

Dixon calls crying "sadding"

"Tell the doctor to take the heartbeat out of your tummy and give it to me so I can eat it. I love heart candy!"

After explaining to Dixon why Daddy has to go to work, Dixon came to this conclusion:
"Daddy is not here because we have to buy stuff."

"Daddy has big boobies."

"I have 2 grandmas. I wish I had 2 Michaels." (His favorite cousin)

Dixon: "Can Dash be naked?"
Me: "No, he has to have a diaper because he can't use the potty yet."
Dixon: "Yeah, he'll poop everywhere and it will get in my eye. Then my eye will turn pink!"

"Does Spongebob Squarepants have square poop, Mommy?"

Dixon saw me put a meat thermometer in a pan of meatloaf and said:
"Birthday, Mommy!"

Dixon bumped his head and got an "owie." He pretended the owie fell off and he caught it. Later I was not paying enough attention to him and he pulled the imaginary owie out of his pocket and said:
"Mommy, owie back. Owie owie!"
while placing it on his head.

Dixon thought he'd broken his toy train. He brought it to me and said:
"Santa new train please."

Dixon saw me eating a yogurt and said:
"Good boy, Mommy!"

When Dixon wants to ask permission for something, he looks at me and asks, "yeah, Mama?" while imitating what is is he wants to do. I've always appreciated this because it helps him to communicate despite his speech limitations. Yesterday I was moving shelves. I was over-dramatizing the effort in an attempt to make Dixon laugh. His response? He looked at me and asked, "Shit, Mama?" to see if it was an appropriate time to say that. I guess he has been listening to me...
and, yes, it was me that accidentally taught him that one.

Years ago Scott had most of his toenails removed. Yesterday Dixon noticed this for the first time and said:
"Eeeww toes. Ew gross."

The other night Dixon got up in the middle of the night (like always.) When I went to try and plead with him to be quiet and try to sleep he pointed at my bloodshot eye and said:
"Mommy eye owie. Red owie. Eye red owie."

I was putting band-aids on some cuts on Dixon's fingers when he said:
"Night night owies."

Dixon heard the zipping sound when he was zipping up his coat. He curled his hand around his ear and whispered:
"Hear bee!"

Dixon when I gave him Ramen Noodles today:
"Snake bath, Mommy!"

Dixon when he pooped in the potty today:
"Choo choo train poop!"

I think Dixon has been having nightmares about mice and bees in his bed. He keeps waking up and needing reassurance they are not there. Tonight at bed time:
Dixon: "No bees?"
Me: "No bees."
Dixon: "No mouse?"
Me: "No mouse."
Dixon: "No cow?"
Me: "I'm actually outside the bed, so no cow. Now go to sleep."
